Happy Mother's Day 2010

We spent time as a family. Great food. Good company. Lovely weather. Perfect family (in my eyes).
This was the picture I "wanted" minus my big girl sad. We were all so worn out from our celebration the day before.
The Owens grandchildren. Ayla, Ridge, Leah, Fischer, & Wyatt
My beautiful angels.... I am so blessed

CMOE

This is late, but better late than never. Because we had such a good time!
Last Sunday we spent a very rainy day together at the Children's Museum of Evansville. The girls had a great time. It was laid back. Very empty (sad). Loads of fun.

Leah's first piggy tails. So cute!

The music room was probably our fave. We spent alot of time in there... making noise music.
Miss Priss loves to play with balls. I tell her she is going to win the Olympics one day. :) Who knows?

Silly girl.

I totally reccomend this place to anyone. It was the perfect way to spend time as a family.

Phew!

I have alot to catch up on. Last week was a really busy one with lots of activies, CMOE, and playdates. I feel more behind than usual. I was planning for Ay's big party so kinda missed out updating some pics. A post on that coming soon....

I am a little teary today thinking of my oldest being three. I woke up and thought- "where did my babies go?" Leah toddled into my room and Ayla sang me a Happy Mother's Day tune her and daddy made up. Sigh.

Ayla officially turned three yesterday. We had an awesome princess party complete with a bounce house. Because doesn't all princesses have bounce houses? :) I am fairly certain Ayla thought she was keeping it for good bc she asked to go jump with Leah today. Eek. Maybe we should have explained that to her first?

Regardless, it was a great day. The weather really didn't slow us down much. I am enjoying my Mother's Day by sitting in sweatpants on the couch and blogging. All I asked for was a picture on MD with my girls and hub. We'll see how that turns out. hehe But, was sweetly greeted with flowers and a new bible (mine got ramsacked by hoodlums last week).

Party post in the works- as soon as I can make myself get off the couch to upload pics. But, its Mother's Day and I can do what I want... to an extent.

We had a great afternoon with friends! Its been so long since Ay's been able to hang with both of her fave buds at the same time. She was loving it. She hasn't stopped talking about seeing Lanie. Im in birthday party planning mode and hope to have all much stuff done. Lots of projects every day and so far so good.

Temple Under Construction

We've all heard the phrase "your body is a temple". Lately, I don't feel like that is true for me. If you know where the phrase originates- I may be in trouble!

We had a great sermon today about taking care of our bodies to honor the Lord. Duh- why have I not thought of this before. Most days I wake up feeling unhappy with this part, etc. Not once have I stopped to think how He feels about the job I am doing to care for myself. After all.. He made me!

"For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful. I know that full well."
Psalm 139 13-14

That passage has always been one of my favorites. I read it often as I carried both of my girls during pregnancy. I found in comforting that God knew every inch of them intirely and nothing would be left out. But, why can't I think of myself that way? We all came in the same way... naked. :) Had to throw it in.

But really. I was fearfully and wonderfully made. Though years have past and things have changed. I should still value my body and my health because He cared so much to create it.

Jeff and I often have conversations of how to improve upon ourselves, our health, our lifestyle. We reminisce of his glory days of pole vaulting and being all muscle-ly (ok-that part is me). I haven't taken time consistantly since getting pregnant with Ayla to care for myself. Why not? It seems easy. I feel better, look better, and have more confidence when I do do it. More importantly I will be taking care of the temple God created for me.

Obviously, this is going somewhere right? Well, I just wanted to get it all down. Typing helps me sift through my feelings. Maybe it will help hold me accountable? But, I hope to embark on keeping exercise a norm in my life. I want my girls to know how important it is. My blog pal Leah is currently taking on some big steps too. I am so proud of her. Its hard to lay it all out there. Maybe by reading through this you will dust the temple every once in a while. Maybe hang some new curtains?
